We’re hiring an SEO Specialist to partner with a growing digital agency that delivers web design, development, and growth marketing for service-based and e-commerce businesses. You’ll take full ownership of local SEO strategy and execution — from technical optimization to content creation and reporting — helping clients achieve top rankings and measurable lead growth.

Accountability
As an SEO Specialist, your success will be defined by your ability to deliver consistent visibility, traffic, and conversion growth through comprehensive SEO strategies. You’ll own the process end-to-end — from audits and keyword mapping to content creation, optimization, and performance reporting.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement complete SEO strategies for both agency and client websites.
- Audit sites and Google Business Profiles (GBPs) to identify issues, opportunities, and priorities.
- Build keyword maps by service and city to improve local search visibility.
- Execute on-page, off-page, and technical SEO initiatives — from schema and Core Web Vitals to crawl optimization.
- Create and publish service, location, and supporting content aligned with brand tone and conversion goals.
Local SEO & Authority Building
- Optimize GBPs for visibility in the local pack, focusing on calls, direction requests, and impressions.
- Build and maintain local citations, backlinks, and review programs to strengthen authority.
- Ensure NAP accuracy across directories and listings.
- Track and report on GBP engagement, keyword rankings, and traffic growth.
Content & Copywriting
- Write SEO-focused website copy and blog articles that drive rankings and conversions.
- Develop briefs and outlines for content that matches search intent and maintains brand voice.
- Apply direct-response principles to optimize landing pages for lead generation.
Reporting & Insights
- Prepare monthly performance reports highlighting key wins, challenges, and next steps.
- Deliver concise weekly written updates to summarize progress and priorities.
- Build Looker Studio dashboards to visualize KPIs and track conversions.
- Present actionable insights instead of data dumps — focusing on ROI and lead quality.
Colleagues
You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to implement SEO recommendations, publish optimized content, and maintain website health. The work environment is fully asynchronous — no standing meetings, just clear written updates and high ownership.
At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from our Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.
Skills & Qualifications

As an SEO Specialist, your vertical focus will be on driving local organic growth through strategy, optimization, and reporting. Your horizontal focus will include content creation, analytics, and collaboration with technical teams to ensure every aspect of performance aligns with business outcomes.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Experience: Proven record of improving local SEO rankings for small or service-based businesses.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in on-page, off-page, and technical SEO, including schema, indexing, and Core Web Vitals.
- Local SEO: Experience with Google Business Profile setup and optimization.
- Tools: Proficiency with Ahrefs, GA4, and Looker Studio (or similar).
- CMS Platforms: Hands-on experience with Webflow; familiarity with WordPress or Shopify is a plus.
- Content Skills: Ability to write SEO-optimized service pages, blogs, and GBP posts.
- Analytical Mindset: Skilled in performance tracking, reporting, and insight-driven optimization.
- Mindset: Highly independent, detail-oriented, and accountable — thrives with autonomy and high trust.
Bonus skills:
- Experience with multi-location SEO or agency environments.
- Familiarity with direct-response copywriting.
- Understanding of CRO and landing page testing.
- Basic HTML/CSS or technical troubleshooting capability.

Role Specifications
This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us.
