Director of Engineering (Remote - India)

In this leadership role, you will drive the technology vision for a rapidly scaling organization serving millions of small and medium businesses worldwide. You will oversee multiple engineering teams responsible for critical operational systems that power customer support, risk management, and automation. Collaborating closely with Product, Data, and Operations teams, you will build and scale platforms that ensure reliability, security, and efficiency across all business functions. Accountabilities:

• Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap for operational systems, including support platforms, automation, fraud prevention, and case management tools.
• Lead and mentor multiple engineering squads, cultivating a high-performing, inclusive, and growth-oriented culture.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Risk, and Operations teams to enhance both internal tools and customer experiences.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security while driving continuous improvement through automation and data insights.
• Promote the use of AI/ML and data-driven decision-making to optimize operations and reduce complexity.
• Coach and develop senior engineers and managers, empowering them to take on future leadership roles.

• 15+ years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles (Senior Manager/Director level).
• Proven experience building and scaling distributed systems or operational platforms within fintech, SaaS, or high-growth tech environments.
• Strong background in support platforms, back-office systems, or risk/compliance tools (experience with KYC/AML/fraud systems is a plus).
• Solid technical expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven systems, and data platforms (AWS or GCP preferred).
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and align teams toward a shared vision.
• Strategic mindset combined with the ability to dive deep into technical details when necessary.
• Passion for automation, process efficiency, and leveraging AI/ML to enhance system performance.
