We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Senior Level Bookkeeper with a minimum of 3–4 years of experience in Canadian small to mid-size accounting firms. The ideal candidate must be proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and capable of managing full-cycle bookkeeping tasks independently while working closely with our in-house accounting team. This is a remote position with flexible working hours within the specified time window.
Skills Required:
Minimum of 3–4 years of bookkeeping experience in Canadian small to mid-size accounting firms
At least 3 years of hands-on full-cycle bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
High proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Strong understanding of payroll processes and remittance calculations
Familiarity with GST/PST filing, WCB reports, and preparation of T4, T4A, and T5 slips
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal teams
Experience using internal tools such as Financial Cents and OneDrive is an asset
Must be comfortable using WhatsApp, Email, and Microsoft Teams as primary communication channels
Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Duties/Tasks to Perform:
- Take over and complete bookkeeping files from various stages of progress within specified time budgets and deadlines
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including data entry, reconciliations, and reporting
- Process payroll and calculate related remittances
- File GST and PST returns and prepare WCB reports
- Prepare year-end slips such as T4, T4A, and T5
- Communicate regularly with in-house accountants to provide updates on files
- Learn from accounting queries raised during reviews and apply learnings
- Adapt to and efficiently use internal systems such as Financial Cents and OneDrive
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (GMT -08:00), U.S. & Canada - 10 hours per week, with flexibility within the stated hours.
