This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff Product Designer, Observability in the United States.

This role is perfect for a design leader passionate about making complex technical systems understandable and usable. You will lead the design of observability, analytics, and insights experiences across both open-source and cloud platforms, creating intuitive interfaces that help users monitor and optimize workflows. The position involves close collaboration with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights through user-centered design. You will conduct research, create interactive prototypes, and establish scalable design systems for data visualization. The role requires a balance of creativity, technical understanding, and a strong focus on accessibility and usability. Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design of observability, analytics, and insights experiences across multiple platforms.
  • Create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that make complex system metrics and workflow data accessible for all users.
  • Conduct user research with developers, engineers, and operations teams to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to plan, validate, and iterate on projects from concept to delivery.
  • Develop low- and high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and data visualization designs.
  • Establish scalable design patterns and system components for time-series data, workflow traces, and system health metrics.
  • Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG Level AA 2.1) and promote inclusivity.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience designing digital products, with a focus on data visualization or analytics.
  • Proven ability to design for complex technical systems and developer platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design systems and data visualization libraries.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience translating technical requirements into user-centered designs.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset, able to work across teams and influence product outcomes.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments, particularly in cloud-native and open-source spaces.
  • Nice to have: Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and developer tools like GitHub and Terminal.
