This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to advanced pavement engineering research and civil infrastructure projects in a remote-friendly, highly collaborative environment. You will apply mechanistic modeling, laboratory and field analysis, and coding expertise to develop innovative solutions for transportation infrastructure. The position emphasizes independent research, project leadership, and professional development while allowing you to engage with multi-disciplinary teams. You will also participate in business development activities, technical presentations, and mentorship, contributing to the advancement of engineering solutions that impact a wide range of projects. Occasional travel for fieldwork and conferences may be required, offering exposure to diverse challenges and professional growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve in multiple project roles, progressing from project engineer to task leader, subject matter expert, and project manager.
  • Conduct literature reviews, analyze data, and generate high-quality technical reports.
  • Design and implement mechanistic models and innovative solutions for pavement systems.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Support business development through proposal writing, conference participation, and client presentations.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and maintain professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering with a focus on pavement engineering.
  • Expertise in pavement engineering, pavement materials, and geotechnical engineering.
  • Proficiency in mechanistic modeling of pavements and coding languages.
  • Knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and experience with statistical software is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations is desirable.
  • U.S. citizenship with a DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
