We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Sr. Renewables Networks Engineer to join a rapidly growing utility-scale energy storage team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing network and control system architectures for large-scale renewable energy projects, including battery storage integration. The engineer will collaborate across operations, asset management, and technical teams to ensure secure, high-performing OT and telecommunications networks. You will provide technical leadership, drive system improvements, and contribute to the development of innovative, data-driven control platforms. Accountabilities:

·         Serve as the subject matter expert for network management, telecommunication systems, and operational technology (OT) within renewable energy projects.

·         Lead the design, configuration, and integration of LAN/WAN networking systems for project hardware, including routers, switches, servers, firewalls, and wireless technology.

·         Oversee the installation of fiber optics, ethernet, virtual and physical servers, and related software or hardware to ensure control system security.

·         Develop and manage OT network architecture, integrations, algorithms, and conceptual designs aligned with ISO/RTO requirements.

·         Supervise network performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and 3rd-party contractor services.

·         Provide technical assessment of grid-tied inverter hardware and software, supporting plant commissioning and construction activities.

·         Drive cybersecurity, system recovery, backup, and audit processes across energy storage assets.

·         Lead communication and collaboration with renewable developers, regulatory bodies, ISOs, and internal stakeholders regarding OT and network strategies.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Control Systems, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, IC&E, Automation Systems, or a related discipline.

·         Hands-on experience in OT network engineering, commissioning, site reviews, and project execution.

·         Expertise in designing, configuring, and maintaining complex WAN/LAN systems, with strong TCP/IP knowledge and experience managing Cisco, Palo Alto, or Fortinet devices.

·         Skilled in cybersecurity practices, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption; familiar with NERC/CIP and NIST standards.

·         Proficient with communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and TCP/IP.

·         Practical experience diagnosing network performance issues and using packet analysis tools like Wireshark and NMAP.

·         Familiarity with operational technology software and hardware (e.g., Ignition, PLC, RTU) and basic programming/scripting skills.

·         Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
