This role offers the opportunity to lead critical incident response and infrastructure recovery projects for a diverse client base. As a Sr. Incident Response Engineer, you will manage escalated technical issues, drive complex system restorations, and deploy security solutions to ensure operational resilience. You will work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, flexible team, taking part in on-call rotations and project delivery while supporting enterprise-scale environments. This position combines reactive incident response with proactive project work, providing exposure to cutting-edge systems, virtualization, and cloud technologies. Your expertise will directly impact clients’ ability to operate securely and efficiently, while also contributing to team knowledge and process improvement. Remote work is supported, with occasional travel to client sites as needed.
Accountabilities:
- Provide escalated support for incident response projects, including restoration, migration, upgrades, and deployment of security solutions.
- Collaborate on project planning, deliverables preparation, and contingency strategies.
- Configure, manage, and maintain enterprise systems including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, VMware, Hyper-V, backup solutions, and remote access platforms.
- Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools, event logs, monitoring data, and memory dumps; restore and rebuild critical systems and virtual environments.
- Ensure compliance with security best practices, deploying MFA, endpoint protection, and other controls.
- Participate in on-call rotations for incident response, providing timely triage and resolution of escalated issues.
- Flex into infrastructure projects during lower incident periods, including system upgrades, migrations, and toolset implementations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in IT project delivery or support, with expertise in enterprise systems, virtualization, and infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Linux, Active Directory, storage solutions, Exchange, SQL, SCCM, MDT, and VMware/Hyper-V platforms.
- At least 1 year of experience administering cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
- Vendor-level certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, VMware VCP; network certifications (CCNA/CCNP) are a plus.
- Deep understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and remote access technologies.
- Ability to work on-call, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required for incident resolution.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a remote environment with a dedicated workspace and high-speed internet.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members.
