Software Engineer - Backend (Remote - India)

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and scaling software applications that power modern supply chain operations across Southeast Asia. You will contribute to designing microservice-based architectures, developing APIs, and implementing event-driven systems that enable a seamless, high-performance platform. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will influence technology choices, improve code quality, and promote best practices in a collaborative and distributed environment. The role offers the opportunity to work fully remotely while shaping scalable solutions that have a direct impact on business operations. You will mentor peers, provide technical guidance, and help the team adopt innovative solutions while continuously learning and growing.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for scalable applications.
• Participate in early-stage architecture decisions and implement microservices-based solutions.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to peers, promoting engineering best practices.
• Build event-driven systems and integrate cloud computing solutions, preferably using AWS.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, maintain documentation, and support a culture of continuous improvement.
• Contribute to a collaborative, distributed team environment where all ideas are valued.

• Previous experience working in a product-focused, SaaS environment.
• Proficiency in Python and Django, or strong willingness to learn Python.
• Experience developing REST APIs and event-based communication systems.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to software architecture and design principles.
• Excellent written and spoken English for effective communication in a distributed team.
• Collaborative mindset and openness to mentoring and learning from peers.
