This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Systems Engineer - II in Wisconsin (USA).
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Systems Engineer - II to contribute to full-stack development initiatives, designing, integrating, and supporting complex software systems. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions within a collaborative and agile environment. The ideal candidate will leverage expertise in .NET technologies, cloud platforms, and API development to ensure application performance, reliability, and security. You will engage directly with stakeholders, mentor junior developers, and implement best practices for software engineering and deployment. This position offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact on critical projects while working in a dynamic, remote-first team environment.
Accountabilities:
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including technical planning, requirements definition, system integration, and support.
- Develop and maintain back-end applications using .NET Core, C#, and MVC architecture.
- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, database solutions (SQL Server, Entity Framework), and cloud-based services.
- Apply agile practices, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest), and DevOps methodologies for high-quality deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and stakeholders, to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions.
- Document software designs, create technical diagrams, and provide guidance to junior developers.
- Ensure performance, scalability, and security of applications in production environments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development using .NET and C#.
- Proven expertise in MVC architecture, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and RESTful API integration.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, including relevant services.
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, version control systems (GIT, TFS/TFVC), and unit testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with database design and development, including SQL Server and Entity Framework.
- Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software lifecycle best practices.
- Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior developers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- U.S. citizenship required; must possess or be eligible for Public Trust (MBI) clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Preferred:
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) X.12, microservices architecture, and containerization (Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
- Familiarity with performance tuning, security best practices, and third-party SDK integration.
