Senior Software Engineer - IoT (Remote - Canada)

As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on IoT, you will play a key role in developing next-generation software for Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). You will design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance distributed systems that power electric vehicle architectures, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, low-latency solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies, including event-driven systems, cloud-native applications, and real-time data streaming. You will have a direct impact on shaping innovative automotive software while ensuring reliability and scalability in production systems. The role also involves participating in on-call rotations to maintain system uptime and address critical production issues.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain distributed systems for IoT and SDV architectures.
• Build efficient, fault-tolerant systems using event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka and Redis.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code in Go (GoLang) with robust test coverage.
• Deploy and manage cloud-based applications, particularly on AWS, ensuring scalability and high availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate system requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Monitor, debug, and optimize applications, proactively addressing performance and latency issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and tools.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends, holidays, and off-hours, to resolve critical production issues.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go (GoLang) programming and experience developing production-grade applications.
• Strong foundation in distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and message brokers such as Kafka.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native design patterns.
• Familiarity with Redis for caching or distributed data structures.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Amazon CloudWatch) and debugging production systems.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes) preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams.
• Ability to work onsite at the designated office three days per week, with flexibility for remote work two days per week.
