Senior Software Engineer II, Smart Trailer & Connected Equipment

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to develop and enhance software solutions for connected trailers and other equipment. This role focuses on building scalable, end-to-end systems that monitor asset utilization, track environmental conditions, and provide actionable insights for operational efficiency. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, customer-focused solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about IoT, software engineering, and delivering real-world impact in industries such as transportation, construction, and field services. You will have the autonomy to design, implement, and mentor others while contributing to the technical growth and long-term vision of the product. This role is fully remote within the U.S. and emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, ML engineers, and applied scientists to deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Build scalable systems that track utilization, temperature, and asset location, providing actionable insights for operational efficiency.
• Mentor and support other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Advocate for long-term technical health while balancing product priorities and iterative delivery.
• Participate in customer interviews and feedback sessions to ensure software meets real-world operational needs.
• Embed team principles such as customer focus, growth mindset, inclusivity, and collaborative problem-solving into daily work.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React.
• Experience building end-to-end software systems, ideally including 0–1 products and scaling them for growth.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with working with geolocation data and deploying machine learning models to production is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to team culture and technical excellence.
• Strong customer focus, understanding of operational impacts, and a proactive approach to software design and maintenance.
