Senior Python Backend Developer (Remote - US)

We are seeking a Senior Python Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs and microservices that power mission-critical financial and investment systems. In this role, you will actively code and lead a team of engineers in creating solutions for real-time market data, cryptocurrency analytics, and other investing tools. You will collaborate across teams to ensure reliability, performance, and security while optimizing systems through caching, asynchronous processing, and query tuning. Accountabilities:

·         Develop and maintain backend microservices and APIs supporting financial and investment platforms.

·         Lead design and implementation of scalable, high-availability systems for thousands to millions of users.

·         Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and development best practices.

·         Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and cross-functional teams to define work scope and deliverables.

·         Integrate with third-party services and tools while ensuring data accuracy, freshness, and failover capabilities.

·         Participate in code reviews, system monitoring, and on-call rotations.

·         Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency, testing, and architectural design.

·         5+ years of experience building and maintaining APIs and backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

·         Strong knowledge of scalable system design, asynchronous processing, and data caching strategies.

·         Experience with relational databases, ORMs, SQL, and query optimization.

·         Proficiency with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.

·         Familiarity with system monitoring, telemetry, and performance tuning.

·         Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

·         Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver on-time results.

·         U.S. work authorization required.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience developing financial microservices, portfolio aggregation, or fintech systems.

·         Knowledge of Redis, Postgres, or AWS services (SQS, RDS, DynamoDB).

·         Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Next.js or React.

·         Understanding of investing concepts and financial data systems.
