Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote - US)

This role is a senior technical position focused on architecting, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. You will drive DevOps best practices, CI/CD maturity, and infrastructure reliability while collaborating closely with software engineering, architecture, and operations teams. The position offers the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives, enhance deployment velocity, and optimize system performance. You will work with container orchestration platforms, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud automation tools to streamline operations and improve developer experience. This role emphasizes both technical leadership and hands-on engineering, with a focus on innovation and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

·         Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions and ArgoCD to enable automated multi-environment deployments.

·         Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.

·         Architect and operate AWS-based infrastructure with emphasis on automation, security, scalability, and cost optimization.

·         Lead GitOps adoption, implementing continuous deployment patterns and declarative configuration management.

·         Build and extend Internal Developer Portals (e.g., Backstage) to improve developer onboarding, self-service infrastructure provisioning, and service catalog management.

·         Collaborate with application development, architecture, and platform teams to integrate DevOps best practices throughout the software lifecycle.

·         Implement observability frameworks including monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing to ensure reliability and performance.

·         Optimize containerized and serverless workloads using Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and AWS Lambda.

·         Mentor engineers and maintain platform documentation to promote best practices in CI/CD, GitOps, and cloud automation.

·         5+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud-native architectures and DevOps automation solutions.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

·         Expert-level experience with CI/CD pipelines, including multi-environment deployment automation and release governance.

·         Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and container orchestration workflows.

·         Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation) and reusable module design.

·         Advanced AWS experience including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and networking/security components.

·         Experience implementing GitOps practices with ArgoCD or similar tools.

·         Familiarity with Internal Developer Portals (Backstage, Humanitec, Port) and developer onboarding workflows.

·         Strong scripting and automation skills using Terraform, Python, Bash, or Go.

·         Knowledge of observability tools (CloudWatch, OpenSearch, New Relic, Datadog) and monitoring practices.

·         Understanding of security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA) and their integration into CI/CD and cloud automation pipelines.

·         Excellent collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork with Architecture, SRE, Platform, and Engineering teams.
