This is a full-time, high-responsibility role dedicated entirely to reviewing financial statements before they are delivered to clients. This is not a team leader or supervisory role, it is a specialized, high-level technical accounting position for a professional who can jump in immediately and perform thorough, in-depth reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct In-Depth Financial Reviews
• Review client financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP prior to client delivery.
• Verify accuracy of all reconciliations, journal entries, payroll allocations, accruals, and adjustments.
• Evaluate the appropriateness of accounting treatment for transactions in both accrual and cash basis reporting.
• Perform Detailed Transaction & Account Analysis
• Review general ledger transactions for proper classification and accuracy.
• Ensure reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are complete, accurate, and properly supported.
• Confirm payroll splits and allocations are correct and consistent with client reporting needs.
• Identify and Resolve Issues
• Detect discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information in financials.
• Communicate review notes clearly and professionally to team members responsible for corrections.
• Follow up on review adjustments to ensure all changes are implemented accurately.
• Maintain High Quality Standards
• Uphold company policies, accounting best practices, and client-specific requirements in all reviews.
• Consistently meet deadlines without sacrificing thoroughness or accuracy.
• Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and professional integrity.

Required Qualifications

• Experience:
• Minimum 5+ years in a senior accounting role, with at least 2 years of involvement in financial review prior to client delivery.
• Must have direct, hands-on QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong, comprehensive knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Proven ability to work confidently in both accrual and cash basis accounting environments.
• Skilled in evaluating complex accounting entries, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, and payroll allocations.
• Technology Skills:
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable learning and using new software quickly.
• Professional References: Strong reference checks demonstrating high performance, accuracy, and reliability in prior review roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a remote accounting environment.
• Exposure to multiple industries and client types.
• Advanced understanding of complex reconciliations, multi-entity consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
