This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver high-impact performance assessments for utility-scale solar and renewable energy projects. You will specialize in solar PV and battery energy storage modeling while gaining exposure to a range of renewable technologies including wind, geothermal, and combined-cycle gas projects. The position involves analyzing operational and climatic data, performing energy yield predictions, and mentoring a team of performance engineers. You will work closely with clients, developers, and financiers to provide technical due diligence and consulting services that support decision-making and project optimization. This is a highly collaborative role that combines technical expertise, leadership, and client-facing responsibilities in a dynamic, remote work environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead solar PV energy yield assessments for utility-scale projects using PVsyst and advanced post-processing tools.
  • Analyze operational performance and climatic data, predicting energy production and performing statistical uncertainty analyses (P90, P95, P99).
  • Mentor and guide a team of performance engineers across solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects.
  • Conduct technical due diligence for renewable energy projects, including evaluating equipment, project execution plans, contracts, and financial models.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations while ensuring compliance with industry standards (NEC, IEEE, UL, IEC).
  • Communicate technical results clearly to clients, stakeholders, and project teams, supporting project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives, proposal preparation, and occasional site visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in renewable energy, including utility-scale solar project design, consulting, or due diligence.
  • Expertise in solar resource assessment, energy yield modeling, and statistical/uncertainty analysis.
  • Proficiency with PVsyst, Excel-based data processing, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy project execution, finance, and operational performance evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reports, proposals, and client interaction.
  • Solid leadership, mentoring, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
