This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Sensing Data Analyst in India.

In this role, you will leverage satellite imagery and geospatial datasets to support agricultural monitoring and insurance projects, contributing to critical decision-making processes. You will analyze optical and microwave imagery, perform crop assessments, and generate actionable insights to support PMFBY workflows. Collaborating with field teams and stakeholders, you will ensure accurate, reproducible analysis while automating processes for efficiency. The role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact agricultural projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment, combining technical expertise with applied research to deliver tangible results. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Python or Google Earth Engine, and an understanding of agro-climatic systems are key to succeeding in this position.

Accountabilities:

·         Analyze satellite imagery and geospatial datasets for crop monitoring, classification, and assessment.

·         Support PMFBY-related workflows including sowing detection, mid-season calamity assessment, CCE planning, and yield estimation.

·         Perform spatial and statistical analyses to generate actionable insights for decision-making.

·         Prepare detailed technical reports, summaries, and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.

·         Collaborate with field teams, line departments, and stakeholders to validate findings and refine requirements.

·         Automate geospatial workflows using Python, Google Earth Engine, or similar platforms.

·         Maintain clear documentation of methodologies and ensure reproducibility of analyses.

Requirements

·         Master’s degree (M.Sc. / M.Tech) in Remote Sensing, Geo-informatics, Agriculture, or a related field.

·         2–4 years of experience in remote sensing and GIS, with direct involvement in PMFBY projects.

·         Proficiency in open-source GIS software and remote sensing platforms.

·         Strong programming skills in Python, Google Earth Engine, or R for geospatial data processing.

·         Experience in writing technical reports and presenting analytical findings.

·         Knowledge of PMFBY guidelines, crop calendars, and agro-climatic zones in India.

·         Preferred: experience with machine learning for crop classification or yield modeling.

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and strong stakeholder communication skills.
