Job Description

We are in need of an experienced Property Accountant with a strong background in managing financial operations for short-term rental properties. The ideal candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance across multiple platforms such as Airbnb, Vrbo, and other vacation rental channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations for multiple short-term rental properties.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, merchant accounts, and booking platform payouts.
  • Track income, occupancy taxes, fees, and commissions from various rental platforms.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and cash flow reports.
  • Coordinate with property managers or hosts regarding budget adherence and expense tracking.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and tax filings, including transient occupancy tax (TOT) or similar.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning specific to seasonal rental cycles.
  • Use accounting and property management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Guesty, Hostaway, etc.).

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Accounting experience, with at least 1 year in short-term rental or hospitality industry.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Excel; experience with short-term rental tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple properties/accounts.
