Product Stewardship Engineer (Remote - US)

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Stewardship Engineer to help manufacturers design and deliver safer, more sustainable products that comply with global environmental regulations. In this role, you will conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs), analyze environmental impacts, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize product design. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, influence decision-making, and contribute to projects that reduce carbon footprint, energy consumption, and hazardous materials usage. This role offers the opportunity to work in a remote-friendly environment, with preference for candidates in Madison/Milwaukee and Chicago areas, while making a measurable impact on environmental sustainability and product stewardship.

Accountabilities:

·         Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) for complex engineered products.

·         Analyze materials, production processes, transportation, energy usage, carbon emissions, and end-of-life considerations.

·         Collaborate with engineering, design, and product teams to optimize products for environmental impact and compliance.

·         Develop detailed reports, recommendations, and presentations based on LCA findings.

·         Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in life cycle analysis methodologies.

·         Support new product development by integrating sustainability and compliance considerations early in design processes.

·         Undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical, or other relevant engineering discipline.

·         Minimum of 3 years of experience in life cycle analysis, product stewardship, or related environmental assessment work.

·         Proficiency in LCA software tools and strong data analysis skills.

·         Excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.

·         Experience with new product development/design is preferred.

·         Familiarity with openLCA software is a plus.
