This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager, Engineering (Structures / M&P) in the United States.
In this role, you will oversee complex engineering programs for advanced aerospace structures, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. You will act as a central point of coordination between engineering teams, supply chain, and program stakeholders, translating technical requirements into actionable schedules and milestones. The role requires a proactive, data-driven, and highly organized leader who can navigate complex interdependencies, assess risks, and drive alignment across multiple work streams. You will influence decisions throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design to manufacturing, testing, and certification. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace technologies, with a focus on sustainable, high-performance aircraft structures. Collaboration, communication, and strategic oversight are key to ensuring program success.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and communicate program budgets, schedules, and product development plans to all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Structures and Materials & Process work package owners across all program phases: requirements, design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, certification, and transition to production.
- Support supply chain management for external suppliers and coordinate engineering inputs to the integrated master schedule for accurate program metrics.
- Define goals, track deliverables, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans to ensure alignment and accountability across teams.
- Assess resource requirements, highlight gaps, and manage interdependencies among multiple projects and technical teams.
- Prepare project reports summarizing status, risks, mitigations, and opportunities for management.
- Manage the program roadmap within the overall strategy, ensuring integration of Air Vehicle development and cross-functional priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years in technical program/project management, preferably within aviation or aerospace engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years total professional experience (a combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Hands-on experience with structures engineering, including composite materials development and aerostructures certification.
- Proven project management experience in complex aircraft structures development through design, testing, and qualification phases.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Jama, Jira, and Dassault 3DX preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement standard processes, organize work effectively, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, relationship-building, and conflict management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proactive follow-up and independent decision-making in ambiguous situations.
