NSWCPD Database Engineer I (Remote - US)

This entry-level engineering role offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced logistics and readiness modeling for naval systems. The Database Engineer I will assist in developing and validating models that enhance fleet readiness, reduce lifecycle costs, and optimize system performance. You will work closely with a collaborative team of engineers, analysts, and program managers to gather and organize data, support reliability assessments, and run simulations. This position provides hands-on experience with modeling tools, data analysis, and technical documentation while fostering professional growth in naval sustainment and systems engineering. Accountabilities

·         Assist in the development and execution of Readiness Based Sparing (RBS) models to improve system availability and performance.

·         Gather, organize, and validate engineering and maintenance data from systems such as DECKPLATE, OARS, and ReMAD.

·         Support reliability and logistics analyses, including part criticality assessment, maintenance thresholds, and system interdependencies.

·         Develop and update technical diagrams, including Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and Functional Block Diagrams (FBDs).

·         Conduct basic simulations, such as Monte Carlo analyses, to evaluate system readiness and cost-performance trade-offs.

·         Document modeling results in technical reports, summaries, and presentations for program stakeholders.

·         Maintain data integrity, version control, and traceability of all inputs and outputs.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality model deliverables.

·         Participate in process improvements and continuous learning to enhance modeling accuracy and efficiency.

·         Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

·         1–3 years of professional experience in engineering, logistics, or a related technical discipline.

·         Foundational knowledge of engineering modeling principles, reliability analysis, and logistics processes.

·         Familiarity with simulation or reliability software (e.g., OPUS Suite, SIMLOX) is preferred.

·         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, configuration data, and technical manuals.

·         Understanding of reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and operational availability (Ao).

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data visualization or analytical tools.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

·         Active Secret clearance required.
