This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Network Engineer - Office of Information Technology in the United States.
This role is a key technical position responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise-wide voice, data, and wireless communications systems. The Network Engineer will ensure the performance, reliability, and security of critical network infrastructure while providing expert troubleshooting and technical support. Working closely with IT teams and end users, the engineer will develop and maintain network monitoring tools, implement upgrades, and assist in capacity planning. This position offers opportunities to contribute to innovative network solutions, provide mentorship to junior technicians, and support the organization’s mission through reliable, high-performing IT services. The role may include on-call responsibilities and occasional remote work, combining hands-on technical tasks with strategic planning and collaboration.
Accountabilities:
- Design, configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems, including voice, data, and wireless infrastructure.
- Monitor critical network processes and enterprise-wide systems, addressing interruptions, failures, and performance issues.
- Develop software and tools to optimize network monitoring, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support active network maintenance, future growth, and enterprise standards.
- Prepare network performance reports, usage statistics, and post-mortem analyses for incident documentation.
- Provide subject matter expertise and auxiliary support for other IT services, mentoring less-experienced technicians.
- Ensure adherence to policies, guidelines, and best practices for network operations.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus five years of IT/network experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise network systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Experience with troubleshooting, testing, scripting, and network coding.
- Proven ability to manage network monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware, configuration management, and software tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently, provide guidance to peers, and contribute to team projects.
- Flexibility to perform in-person duties on-site, with potential for approved remote work.
