Java Developer - Team Lead (Remote - US)

You will drive key initiatives, mentor junior developers, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to influence cross-functional teams and deliver impactful results. You will leverage modern Java technologies, Spring frameworks, microservices, cloud platforms, and performance optimization techniques to create robust applications. Remote work is supported, with occasional collaboration and team activities to strengthen alignment and productivity.

Accountabilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of front-end and back-end developers, guiding project execution and ensuring on-time delivery of commitments.
• Manage and mentor developers, providing direction, coaching, and constructive performance feedback.
• Architect and design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance web and mobile applications.
• Balance hands-on development with leadership responsibilities, including code review, technical guidance, and strategic planning.
• Solve complex technical problems independently while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimize application performance, implement caching strategies, and monitor system scalability.
• Promote best practices, including dependency injection, unit testing, and adoption of Generative AI tools.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of Java development experience, with 3+ years in a team leadership or technical management role.
• Deep knowledge of Java 8, 17, and 21, including Streams, Lambda Expressions, Functional Interfaces, Default and Static Methods, String Joiner, Optional, and Collection API.
• Strong experience with Spring 6, Spring Boot, WebFlux, Security, Actuator, JPA, and JDBC.
• Proficiency in microservices architecture, REST APIs, and API Gateway.
• Solid experience with MySQL, Redis Cache, JUnit, JWT, Maven, Log4J2, and SLF4J.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) or other cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and healthcare regulatory standards (HIPAA, SOC 2) is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives, delegate effectively, and mentor high-performing teams.
• Experience driving continuous improvement through new tools, processes, or methodologies.
