This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer – Arc Flash in the United States.
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to perform on-site electrical distribution system evaluations and arc flash risk assessments. In this role, you will support clients across industries, gathering electrical system data, performing engineering calculations, and providing tailored solutions. You will also coordinate arc flash training and certifications while acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team. This position involves collaborating with sales, managing projects from kickoff to closeout, and driving process improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of arc flash services. The role is remote, home-office based, with travel requirements every other week and occasional supervision of other field engineers.
Accountabilities:
· Conduct electrical power system and engineering studies for diverse clients.
· Assist the sales team and communicate with clients regarding arc flash solutions.
· Manage projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
· Gather electrical system data on-site, documenting configurations, equipment ratings, conductor lengths, ampacities, and overcurrent protection information.
· Perform power system studies including arc flash, short circuit, and fault current analyses.
· Deliver general and site-specific arc flash training and certifications.
· Conduct arc flash audits, gap analyses, and prepare detailed customer reports with recommendations.
· Identify electrical code violations and create comprehensive arc flash reports including labels, single-line diagrams, and energy reduction strategies.
· Serve as SME and internal trainer for arc flash safety, assessments, and calculations.
Requirements
· Willingness to travel every other week, returning home on weekends.
· Engineering degree is a plus, but training is provided for field work and arc flash software programs.
· Previous electrical field work experience preferred.
· Experience with SKM software is advantageous.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and train others as needed.
