This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service and support for complex medical devices within an assigned territory. The Field Service Engineer III will perform installations, maintenance, and upgrades, while collaborating closely with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure device reliability and user satisfaction. This position requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while managing schedules and priorities. You will mentor and train new engineers, contribute to continuous process improvements, and uphold safety and quality standards. Travel within the region is a key part of the role, offering exposure to diverse healthcare environments and opportunities to impact patient care positively.

Accountabilities:

  • Install, relocate, and upgrade medical devices according to technical documentation and quality standards.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including software updates and recordkeeping for customers and management.
  • Act as a liaison with technical support for troubleshooting, product evaluation, and introduction.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and ensure customer satisfaction while following corporate policies.
  • Support sales initiatives by assisting with equipment demonstrations, pre-sale configurations, and clinical evaluations.
  • Mentor and provide on-the-job training for new engineers and field associates.
  • Maintain and control company assets, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in required technical training and continuous professional development.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical training, military experience, or certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role, with exposure to complex medical devices.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including networking, Windows operating systems, CRM software, and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to operate all assigned devices across various care areas and environments.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and manage schedules.
  • Must be willing to travel regionally (up to 60% of the time), work various shifts, and occasionally relocate within the assigned territory.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
  • Completion of required company training programs and adherence to safety, quality, and ethical standards.
