Engineering Team Lead (Remote - US)

This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who thrives in a hands-on leadership position. You will lead and mentor an agile team of 6–8 engineers, while actively contributing to both frontend and backend development. You will design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions, ensuring high-quality software and alignment with business goals. This position requires a strong understanding of full-stack development, software architecture, and modern frameworks, combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will work in a dynamic, remote-first environment that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and the exploration of new technologies.

Accountabilities:

• Lead and mentor an agile team of software engineers, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
• Architect, design, and implement software solutions across frontend and backend systems.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver new features or enhance existing products.
• Ensure best practices in software development, including coding standards, version control, and DevOps principles.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and apply them to improve software quality and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of professional experience in software development and design.
• 3+ years of experience coaching or mentoring an agile engineering team.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript and at least one JS framework (React, Angular, Vue).
• Strong expertise in Node.js and at least one Node framework (Express, Koa, Sails).
• Solid understanding of REST/JSON, SOA principles, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), Git, and managed source control platforms.
• Foundational knowledge of AWS and DevOps practices.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
