Engineering Manager, Machine Learning (Remote - US)

This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact data science team focused on building and deploying advanced machine learning models, including NLP and LLM-based solutions, that directly improve the efficiency of clinical trials. You will guide technical strategy, mentor data scientists, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into production systems. Accountabilities:

·        Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data scientists to design, develop, and deploy ML models at scale.

·        Oversee model development, including GenAI/LLM-based algorithms, for clinical trial execution and patient recruitment.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinicians, engineers, informaticists, and stakeholders) to align data initiatives with business objectives.

·        Define model specifications, gather requirements, and supervise dataset generation for training and validation.

·        Guide integration of ML models into production infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

·        Drive innovation in data science practices and establish long-term technical vision and standards for the team.

·        Communicate technical and business value of ML initiatives to both technical and non-technical audiences.

·        PhD or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

·        7+ years of experience in data science, preferably in healthcare or related industries.

·        2+ years of leadership experience managing ML or data science teams.

·        Strong expertise in machine learning, including model training, evaluation, and deployment.

·        Hands-on experience with Python and knowledge of ML algorithms and statistical methods.

·        Experience managing production-level ML infrastructure, including pipelines, deployment, and monitoring.

·        Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and communication skills.

·        Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity startup environment.

·        Bonus: Experience with oncology or clinical trial data, GenAI/LLM model development, and early-stage startup environments.
