This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineer III, Cloud SDET - Channel File Systems (Remote) in the United States.

This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of large-scale distributed cloud systems. The Cloud SDET will design and implement automated testing frameworks, verify critical features across processing, data, and application layers, and work closely with engineering teams to maintain high standards for product delivery. This position requires a development-first mindset, strong technical expertise in backend and cloud technologies, and a passion for delivering rock-solid solutions. Accountabilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools for distributed services and APIs.
  • Verify component, system integration, and application-level features to ensure reliability, accuracy, and performance.
  • Review engineering designs and requirements, providing test strategies and guidance.
  • Increase and improve automated test coverage across the platform.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes of production issues and implement preventive quality measures.
  • Develop and maintain test infrastructure and frameworks to support automation.
  • Participate in backend development as needed to fully understand systems and drive testing efforts.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of combined experience as an SDET and/or backend developer, focused on distributed services and APIs.
  • 2–3+ years building testing frameworks and tooling for cloud SaaS products.
  • Strong computer science foundation, including data structures, algorithms, and programming concepts.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages such as Go, Python, Scala, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Experience with networking protocols, distributed systems, and layered architectures.
  • Knowledge of web services (JSON, REST, RPC, XML) and cloud platforms (AWS EC2 & S3).
  • Familiarity with data storage systems, including RDBMS, NoSQL, and caching technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, SQLServer, Redis, MemCache).
  • Strong debugging skills to identify design flaws, race conditions, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Experience with application, OS, browser, or hardware compatibility testing.
  • Understanding of computer and network security principles.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Bonus: contributions to open source projects, experience with Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, GRPC, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins.
