This role provides an opportunity to contribute to a variety of civil engineering projects, focusing on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), roadway lighting, and signalization. You will apply standard engineering principles while gaining exposure to project planning, design, and fieldwork, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The position combines hands-on technical work with opportunities to assist in preparing project deliverables, performing analyses, and supporting overall project management. Flexibility and collaboration are key, with a mix of remote work and occasional site visits or in-person meetings.

Accountabilities:

·        Perform civil engineering design tasks under general supervision, including preparing plan details, cost estimates, and technical specifications.

·        Review and approve design drawings for ITS, lighting, and signalization projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

·        Prepare technical reports to communicate project information to clients and stakeholders.

·        Conduct field tests, measurements, and data collection, using software to present findings.

·        Assist project teams or managers in developing contract design plans, calculations, and engineering documentation.

·        Coordinate with other engineers to complete project deliverables on time and with minimal oversight.

Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.

·        Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering roadway design, with proficiency in ITS, lighting, and signalization.

·        Knowledge of transportation technology systems, including CCTV, vehicle detection systems (microwave, Bluetooth), dynamic message signs, fiber optic communications, lighting photometric analysis, and signalization plans.

·        Proficiency with engineering software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GuideSIGN, and AGI32.

·        Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.

·        Ability to work up to 100% remotely, with occasional site visits or in-person meetings as required.
