The Director of Data Science will lead a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and machine learning specialists to deliver advanced analytics and AI solutions that drive business impact. This role focuses on applying data science to optimize marketing, sales, and customer experience through predictive modeling, experimentation, and data-driven insights. You will collaborate with senior leaders to shape enterprise-wide AI and analytics strategies, translating complex data into actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Accountabilities:
- Lead development, deployment, and operationalization of predictive and prescriptive models to enhance marketing, sales, and customer engagement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide insights into customer behavior, campaign performance, and growth opportunities.
- Build and scale analytics solutions for segmentation, personalization, churn reduction, and lifetime value optimization.
- Ensure methodological rigor, model transparency, and operational reliability in all data science projects.
- Define and execute a data science roadmap, aligning AI and analytics initiatives with business objectives.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative, outcome-oriented culture.
- Communicate complex technical insights to both technical and executive stakeholders, demonstrating measurable business impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in data science, data analysis, data engineering, machine learning, actuarial science, or software development.
- 10+ years of experience with SQL and Python/R.
- 3+ years of experience leading teams of data scientists, analysts, or engineers.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-based data infrastructure, including Redshift, Snowflake, or equivalent.
- Experience in data science best practices, software version control (GitHub/GitLab), and reproducible analytics pipelines.
- Expertise in advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, NLP, and large-scale structured and unstructured data.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strategic, analytical, and creative thinker with the ability to influence and drive business decisions.
