This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Science & Machine Learning Engineer in the United States.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale cybersecurity data platforms, applying data science and machine learning to detect anomalies and strengthen security systems. You will work with petabyte-scale datasets, develop ML models, prepare data pipelines, and create impactful visualizations to support decision-making. Collaborating with engineers, analysts, and leadership, you will contribute to strategies for threat detection and mitigation. This fully remote position provides an environment where technical expertise, innovation, and analytical skills directly influence security outcomes and operational excellence. The role combines hands-on development, strategic planning, and cross-functional teamwork, making it ideal for professionals passionate about cybersecurity and data-driven solutions.
Accountabilities
- Lead analysis efforts on petabyte-scale security data clusters.
- Prepare and process datasets for machine learning, including parsing, indexing, and feature engineering.
- Develop custom machine learning models using AWS SageMaker or open-source tools and implement ML rules using COTS products.
- Create advanced data visualizations with tools like PowerBI, Tableau, or Kibana to detect anomalies and present actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts and development teams to address threat monitoring challenges and improve security posture.
- Develop and maintain DSML strategies and procedures for anomaly detection across large-scale applications.
- Configure anomaly alerting logic and participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure continuous system reliability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in data science.
- 2+ years of Python development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network or Security Engineering, System Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka, Spark).
- Experience preparing datasets for machine learning and developing ML models.
- Strong mathematics and statistical analysis skills.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices is preferred.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills to translate complex data for varied audiences.
- Experience visualizing data effectively and performing exploratory data analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented, ethical, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.
