This role offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive and technically skilled cybersecurity professional to strengthen the security posture of a growing organization. The Cybersecurity Engineer will manage cloud infrastructure security, audit compliance, AI-driven security initiatives, and corporate security support. You will collaborate across teams to implement security best practices, streamline processes, and lead initiatives that protect critical systems and data. This role balances hands-on technical work with strategic project leadership, allowing you to make a measurable impact on the organization’s cybersecurity program while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

  • Lead audit-related activities, including AI-specific controls implementation, evidence collection, and ensuring compliance with frameworks such as NIST and HITRUST.
  • Monitor and enhance cloud security configurations in AWS and GCP, fine-tuning alerts and optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Support corporate security initiatives, including responding to security questionnaires, maintaining control frameworks, and conducting vendor risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement AI security monitoring systems and respond to compliance alerts, staying current with evolving AI governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive security process improvements, automation, and best practices across projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders to reduce risk and strengthen security posture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or a related field.
  • Strong technical expertise in AWS and GCP security configurations.
  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks including NIST 800-53, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HITRUST.
  • Experience with security monitoring tools, alert management, and scripting for automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept to implementation with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and cross-functional influence abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong judgment to prioritize high-impact activities.
  • Preferred: Security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security, GCP Security), AI/ML security framework experience, and vendor risk assessment expertise.
