Backend Engineer

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking, on behalf of a top AI technology partner, an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to help build scalable systems that power cutting-edge voice AI solutions. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of backend engineering and AI, contributing to products with global impact and scale.

In this role you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, low-latency backend systems for AI/voice applications.
• Build robust RESTful and gRPC APIs using microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice and machine learning technologies.
• Ensure system reliability through testing, monitoring, and CI/CD best practices.
• Contribute to infrastructure design and optimization across cloud platforms.

• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django).
• Proven experience designing and maintaining distributed backend systems.
• Solid understanding of system design, event-driven architectures, and message queues.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with voice or LLM-powered systems (STT, TTS, WebRTC, Twilio, LiveKit).
• Knowledge of ML pipeline orchestration and inference workflows.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Experience working closely with ML teams on deployment and observability.
