This role provides the opportunity to contribute to blockchain infrastructure and protocol operations in a high-impact, rapidly evolving environment. As an Associate Protocol Engineer, you will help design, maintain, and optimize distributed systems supporting decentralized finance and Web3 applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure reliability, scalability, and automation while participating in the operation of blockchain validation and custody services. This position requires both hands-on technical expertise and an aptitude for problem-solving across cloud platforms, containerized environments, and blockchain networks. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, contribute to key protocol initiatives, and help shape the future of blockchain infrastructure. Remote work is supported, with flexibility for occasional on-site collaboration as needed.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable blockchain infrastructure, focusing on Chainlink systems and services.
• Operate, monitor, and optimize blockchain nodes and validation infrastructure, including Solana, Ethereum, or similar protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve automation, monitoring, observability, and incident response processes.
• Develop infrastructure as code, leveraging tools like Terraform or other orchestration frameworks.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems, identifying issues in servers, networks, and applications, and implement effective solutions.
• Research emerging trends in blockchain, Web3, and infrastructure technologies to inform operational improvements.
• Participate in domain-specific on-call rotations, ensuring continuous uptime and reliability of critical services.

• 4+ years of software engineering or infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on experience with blockchain infrastructure, nodes, RPCs, or similar distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Chainlink systems, ecosystem, or related smart contract integrations.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes or other container orchestration systems and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, Docker, etc.).
• Ability to script and automate processes using Python, Bash, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
• Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, access control, and network security.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex application flows and communicate solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
