This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Android Engineer - P3 - Security & Identity in the United States.

In this role, you will develop and enhance Android applications and SDKs focused on identity, authentication, and security for a global user base. You will take ownership of the end-to-end development cycle, from concept to delivery, ensuring that applications are robust, scalable, and secure. Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams, you will influence the technical roadmap and contribute to architectural discussions. Your work will directly impact the safety and trust of millions of users, while also creating developer-focused tools that are intuitive, high-performing, and widely adopted. This is a hands-on role that blends technical excellence with a strong focus on usability, reliability, and operational performance.

Accountabilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize highly scalable Android applications and SDKs focused on identity and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and infrastructure to deliver secure and user-focused solutions.
  • Drive best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improve system reliability, scalability, and efficiency across identity and security products.
  • Develop SDKs and libraries used by external developers, ensuring clarity, usability, and robust functionality.
  • Contribute to architectural planning and technical roadmaps.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in Android development, building production-level applications and SDKs.
  • Proficient in Kotlin and experienced with Java.
  • Deep knowledge of Android frameworks, libraries, and the overall mobile development ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including observability, maintainability, and security.
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  • Skilled in automated build and test pipelines, test-driven development, and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bonus: experience with iOS development, CI/CD automation, modern verification methods (SMS, biometrics, TOTP), and distributed teams.
