This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AMI/AMR Project Manager in the United States.
As an AMI/AMR Project Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end execution of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and automated meter reading (AMR) projects for municipal clients. You will manage multiple stakeholders, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met. Working closely with subcontractors and technical teams, you’ll ensure successful water meter installations, seamless coordination, and efficient reporting. This role offers the opportunity to lead large-scale infrastructure initiatives that support smarter water management systems while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction and operational excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of AMI/AMR projects, ensuring completion within defined scope, budget, and timeline.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to guarantee timely delivery, compliance, and installation quality.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and manage water meter installation crews with precision and accountability.
- Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders, providing project updates, KPIs, and progress reports.
- Support resource allocation, risk management, and issue resolution to ensure uninterrupted project flow.
- Maintain strong client relationships by understanding business needs and recommending suitable products and services.
- Supervise project execution using best practices in project management and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Perform site visits when necessary and ensure alignment across internal teams, partners, and clients.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, or water systems.
- Strong understanding of AMI/AMR technologies, installation workflows, and municipal operations.
- Proven leadership in managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-site field operations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access); advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
- Comfortable working remotely with up to 50% travel across the Northern Midwest (OH, IN, MI, IL, MN, IA, WI, or Dakotas).
- Self-driven, collaborative, and able to perform effectively with minimal oversight.
