Starting Pay: $32.00/hour, with higher pay possible based on experience

Position Summary

We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector with structural steel fabrication experience to monitor workmanship, materials, welding, and coatings for compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

This is a hands-on shop-floor position in an active, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. The role involves limited office work and regular standing, walking, and material inspections.

What You'll Do

Inspect structural steel and fabricated components for quality and specification compliance.

Verify work meets AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC, and applicable industry standards.

Check incoming materials, parts, and consumables for conformance.

Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation and logs.

Use and maintain inspection equipment and welding-related tools.

Calibrate welding equipment and quality inspection tools as needed.

Assist with welder qualification testing and certification.

Support training involving welding, fitting, and quality requirements.

Maintain drawing control and other quality processes.

Work with production and management to identify and correct quality issues.

Participate in continuous improvement and training activities.

Promote safe work practices throughout the facility.

Work Environment

Primarily shop-floor based with limited office work

Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility

Regular standing, walking, and inspection of materials

Exposure to varying temperatures

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification

Experience with Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), or Penetrant Testing (PT)

Certifications related to structural steel fabrication, bolting, coatings, or welding inspection

Previous steel manufacturing experience
