Job Description

Associate UX Designers are developing professional expertise in the discipline of Design and User Experience. Associates focus on supporting the user experience design process from concept to delivery with the guidance of more senior UX Designers. 

UX Designers at this level assist with user research, create essential design deliverables like wireframes and prototypes, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure products are intuitive, user-centered, and conform to design system guidelines. This role requires a foundational understanding of UX principles, proficiency in design tools, and strong communication and problem-solving skills, making it an ideal position for those eager to grow their career in UX design. 

Responsibilities

Essential Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project teams in designing new web-based software through the entire product development lifecycle.
  • Assist in conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, usability tests, and competitive analysis, to gather insights into user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Help analyze research data and translate it into actionable design insights. Understand and use analytics data to inform design decisions. 
  • Assist in presenting design concepts and solutions to various teams and stakeholders, incorporating feedback.
  • Work closely with seasoned UX designers, product managers, developers, and other team members to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with project goals. 
  • Refine design solutions based on feedback from stakeholders, usability testing, and design reviews.
  • Produce a wide variety of design artifacts such as mental models, user personas, workflow diagrams, glossaries, site maps, wireframes, rapid or high-fidelity prototypes, test scripts, pixel-perfect mockups, engineering-ready assets, and surveys.
  • Build lasting relationships with multiple product teams and contribute to an open, creative, dynamic, and productive atmosphere.
  • Justify design decisions based on a good understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies
  • Essential Skills and/or Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of related industry experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong visual design skill and an understanding of user centered design principles.
  • Experience with using a variety of user research, prototyping and visual design tools (e.g. Figma, FigJam, Figma Make, Replit, Adobe Creative Suite, Optimal Workshop, User Interview)
  • Good understanding of how to design solutions for end-to-end scenarios.
  • Ability to know when and how to use various tools in your toolbox and persuade others about your design process.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skill.
  • Foundational knowledge with using standard user-centered design and user research techniques effectively (e.g., problem framing, understanding users and context, interviewing, ideation and iteration, usability testing, measuring success)
  • Proficiently communicates process, design ideas, and research findings in a variety of settings to a variety of audiences
  • Openness to feedback and iteration, and the ability to adjust to changing project requirements
