Sr. Global Manufacturing Engineer
The Sr. Global Manufacturing Engineer serves as the technical backbone of the company’s global manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing, standardizing, and continuously improving processes that ensure product quality, operational efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. It bridges the gap between engineering design and mid- to high-volume production, supporting the smooth introduction of new products into global markets.
This role also leads engineering initiatives to optimize product design and manufacturing methods without compromising performance or quality, manages Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and accuracy across all global sites, and develops visibility on BOM templates to enable scale across global partners. Collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders is key to ensuring manufacturability, quality, and supply chain resilience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or global operations.
- Strong experience with BOM management, process documentation, and new product introduction.
- Proficiency with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC).
- Experience working with global suppliers and navigating cross-cultural operational differences.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Development & Standardization
- Define, document, and deploy standardized manufacturing processes across global facilities to ensure consistency, repeatability, and scalability.
- Ensure all process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing protocols meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop training materials and coach local operations teams to drive adoption of best practices and technical know-how.
- New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Collaborate with Design and regional operations teams to enable smooth and timely introduction of new products into manufacturing environments.
- Lead engineering readiness reviews, ensuring production capability, process control, and quality standards are in place before launch.
- Value Engineering & Cost Optimization
- Lead or contribute to value engineering projects focused on reducing cost, improving efficiency, and enhancing product quality.
- Own and manage BOM accuracy, structure, and cost optimization across product lines once products are in mass production.
- Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Performance Improvement Managers to identify and execute Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives.
- Drive waste reduction, cycle time improvement, and production cost reduction through structured methodologies (DMAIC, 5 Whys).
- Supplier Collaboration & Quality
- Partner with suppliers to ensure manufacturability of components and assemblies, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with production timelines.
- Build strong technical relationships with suppliers to improve manufacturability, responsiveness, and quality performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve issues and align on global manufacturing goals.
- Champion new technologies and methods that enhance efficiency, scalability, or competitive advantage in manufacturing.
