Senior Java Software Engineer with Angular

Responsibilities

• Design scalable solutions: Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Deliver high-quality code: Implement applications following best practices in clean code, testing, and performance optimization.
• Support modern deployment practices: Work closely with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications and integrate CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage event-driven architecture: Use events to build robust, asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services.
• Optimize data interactions: Design and maintain efficient relational database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness.
• Contribute to strong engineering standards: Engage in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and promote best practices.
• Leverage AI code companions: Utilize hands-on AI code companions and intelligent development tools to enhance productivity, accelerate development cycles, and maintain code quality standards while staying current with modern development practices.
• Mentor and grow the team: Provide guidance to junior developers and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Must have: 

• 5+ years of experience in backend software development using Java 8 or above
• Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and the Spring framework ecosystem
• Strong proficiency with Angular 19
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful microservices
• Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries and working with databases
• Working knowledge of Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, message-driven systems, and distributed systems
• Good understanding of Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for automated build and deployment
• Experience with Git and Agile development practices
• Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate or reduce repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly by structuring effective prompts, critically validating outputs, understanding limitations, and taking ownership of the final result.
• Strong English communication skills; German language skills are a plus

Nice to have: 

• Experience with any Cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring Java applications
• Knowledge of security best practices in backend development
• Experience with Node.js and kf-theme, material-ui
