About the role

Quotation & Commercial Management
- Turn customer enquiries and qualified opportunities into accurate, timely and commercially sound quotations.
- Take ownership of quotations from initial request through to order readiness, ensuring customer requirements, pricing and scope are clearly understood and documented.
- Prepare estimates that balance technical requirements, customer expectations and commercial outcomes.
- Apply sound commercial judgement to protect margin while supporting competitive and compelling customer proposals.
- Develop clear and comprehensive scopes of work, including assumptions, exclusions, contingencies and any non-standard requirements.
- Identify technical, commercial and delivery risks early and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve them before quotation.
- Ensure each quote provides a clear foundation for production, installation and delivery, minimising downstream ambiguity, rework and variations.
- Challenge incomplete or unclear requirements and proactively obtain the information needed to produce a reliable estimate.
- Partner with Engineering, Hardware Design and other technical teams to scope, cost and validate new or complex customer requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for pre-sales enquiries requiring technical or commercial clarification.
- Interpret tender documentation, architectural drawings and construction information to develop accurate estimates and scopes.
- Help customers and internal stakeholders make timely decisions by resolving technical and commercial questions early in the sales process.
- Ensure accepted quotations are accurate, complete and ready for efficient conversion into sales orders.
- Work closely with Sales Operations, Order Management and Deployment to ensure a seamless handover from quotation through to delivery.
- Maintain high-quality quoting and order data to support downstream planning, production and installation.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and automate estimating and quoting processes, partnering with Sales Operations and Account Management to improve efficiency and the customer experience.

What you'll bring
- 3–5 years' experience in estimating, pre-sales, quoting or a related commercial role, ideally within a project-based, construction, manufacturing or technical environment.
- Strong commercial judgement, with demonstrated ability to produce accurate estimates and understand the impact of scope, cost and margin.
- Experience interpreting tender documentation, architectural plans, specifications and/or construction drawings.
- Confidence working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and solve problems.
- Experience using estimating, quoting, CRM or ERP systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with detailed commercial data.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple functions.
