Mechanical Assembler – 1st Shift

Location: Ashland, VA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Up to $24.00/hr (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Foley, AL. This position is responsible for assembling mechanical components for overhead cranes and hoists and assisting the Sub-Assembly and Assembly Departments with mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities:

Assemble mechanical components for overhead cranes and hoists

Assemble components such as bearings and couplings on shafts

Use basic hand tools to fabricate, assemble, and install components

Read and interpret shop drawings

Operate overhead cranes and forklifts

Apply basic mechanical knowledge to assembly tasks

Work safely in a heavy industrial environment

Maintain reliable attendance and arrive to work on time each day

Work 10-hour shifts and Saturdays as required

Safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on assembly experience

Ability to read and understand shop drawings

Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts

Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
