Overview

The Shipping Clerk provides EDI production support and coordinates new EDI setup. This role monitors EDI systems, resolves issues, and works closely with the Order Management Team and Warehouse to ensure daily business processes flow without interruption.

You will be responsible for processing and monitoring all inbound and outbound transactions, managing daily EDI production support with Trading Partners, and supporting logistics operations to maintain smooth and efficient order fulfillment.

Essential Functions:

EDI Production Support:

  • Provide ongoing EDI production support and coordinate new EDI setups.
  • Process and monitor all inbound and outbound transactions.
  • Manage daily EDI production support with Trading Partners, Order Management Team, and Warehouses.
  • Troubleshoot EDI-related issues to ensure uninterrupted daily operations.

Logistics:

  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and internal teams to manage and resolve billing and/or rate issues.
  • Manage account setup processes, including generating web users, EDI, BOL, and carrier account numbers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal team members.
  • Execute daily transportation needs, including tracking and scheduling shipments, and provide regular status updates.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements by analyzing client shipment data.
  • Manage and resolve daily carrier service issues, failures, and delays.
  • Perform key customer service functions such as client communication, order building, expediting, load tendering to LTL and TL carriers, and event exception management.
  • Coordinate and oversee logistics operations, including demand planning, order picking, packaging, and distribution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize warehouse space.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to transportation, storage, and handling of goods.

Qualifications:

  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication using professional etiquette.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and 3PL providers.
  • High level of English proficiency (C1 or C2).

Requirements:

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting written and quantitative data to make informed recommendations.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of EDI experience preferred.
  • Experience with EDI documents in the retail industry (850/856/810/940/945) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of operations management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency with logistics software for tracking shipments, inventory, and orders.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports to drive operational improvements.
