Visual Design Intern- Paytm

About the Role 

We’re looking for a Visual Design Intern who can bring craft, taste, and a strong sense of direction to Paytm’s visual language — someone who thinks beyond a single polished screen and can translate everyday, utility-first product moments into visuals that feel considered and unmistakably Paytm. You’ll work on illustration, iconography, and visual systems for product surfaces used at scale — sourcing references, building a point of view, and executing that direction with craft, alongside designers and stakeholders across the team. Throughout the internship, you’ll have a dedicated design mentor, participate in design critiques, and learn how a considered visual direction gets built, defended, and scaled across a product.

What You’ll Do 

● Source and synthesize references into an original, defensible visual direction — not just execute a given style.

● Translate a product’s emotional tone — trust, playfulness, urgency, calm — into visuals that serve that specific context.

● Collaborate with product designers, product managers, and the design team to keep visual language consistent with the brand.

● Contribute to and help extend Paytm’s evolving visual systems (illustration, iconography, motion) for use across products.

● Use AI tools as part of your craft process, while maintaining a distinct, non-generic point of view.

● Take feedback, iterate fast, and improve visual quality with every round.

● Final-year student pursuing a degree in Design, Visual Communication, Illustration, Animation, or a related field.

● Strong visual and illustration fundamentals — composition, form, colour, and craft.

● Ability to source references thoughtfully and synthesize them into an original direction, not just imitate them.

● An eye for translating brand identity across different tones and contexts — playful, premium, utilitarian, and beyond.

● Hands-on experience with design/illustration tools (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar); familiarity with AI tools as part of the workflow.

● Motion & graphics sensibility is a strong plus.

● Curiosity, ownership, and openness to feedback.

● A portfolio with strong visual range and process — show us your references, explorations, and decisions, not just polished final visuals.
