Job Description

Urban Walker

Walkr — London (or another city with strong walkability) Full-time / Part-time considered · On-site (outdoors)

About Walkr

Walkr helps people turn everyday calls and meetings into walks. We started as a small Chrome extension that flags walk-friendly meetings in Google Calendar, and we're building toward a bigger mission: make walking the default way people connect, think and work.

We believe most of what happens in a meeting room could happen just as well, if not better, on a pavement. We're now looking for someone to prove it, on the ground, every day.

The role

We're hiring a full-time Urban Walker: someone whose job is to walk. You'll take Walkr's calls, meetings and thinking sessions outdoors, on foot, in a city with enough walkable area to actually make that work. You'll be our internal proof of concept and our most honest source of product feedback.

Practically, this means:

  • Taking scheduled calls and 1:1s while walking, using Walkr to flag and organise them
  • Logging what works and what doesn't: audio quality, routes, weather, pacing, how conversations change when nobody's looking at a screen
  • Feeding that back into the product directly, you'll be in the room (or rather, on the street) with the team building the features you use
  • Scouting and mapping walkable routes near our hubs that others on the team can reuse
  • Occasionally representing Walkr in walking meetings with partners, press or early users

What we're looking for

  • You live in, or are willing to be based in, a city with genuinely walkable areas (parks, canals, low-traffic streets, decent pavements)
  • You're comfortable holding a normal, focused conversation while moving, this is a real skill, not everyone has it
  • You're organised enough to manage a calendar full of outdoor commitments and reroute around weather, meetings and life
  • You're naturally curious about behaviour change, habits and how environment shapes how we think
  • Bonus: you already walk a lot and have opinions about it

Why this role exists

Most companies talk about wellbeing and then put everyone back in a chair in a room with no windows. We'd rather have one person whose entire job disproves the excuse that walking meetings "don't really work in practice." If it's your job, it has to work.

What you'll get

  • A role that pays you to do the thing our product is trying to get everyone else to do
  • Direct input into what we build next
  • Flexible hours built around daylight and your city's best routes
  • The rare chance to put "Professional Walker" on your CV and mean it
