Starting Pay: From $30.00/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Shop Lead to oversee daily fabrication activities and help keep production running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This hands-on role provides leadership to shop personnel while supporting quality, productivity, and workflow throughout the fabrication process.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations for structural steel fitters, welders, and fabrication personnel

Coordinate workloads to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines

Provide technical support for fit-up, welding, layout, and blueprint interpretation

Monitor production and resolve fabrication or workflow issues

Communicate schedule updates and production concerns with shop leadership

Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with quality standards and shop procedures

Work with maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime

Maintain an organized and safe fabrication area

Assist with employee training, onboarding, and performance development

Partner with Quality Control to verify fabrication accuracy

Support dimensional inspections, documentation, and other shop activities as needed
