Job Description

The Service Manager leads both office and field teams to deliver high-quality services. This role focuses on building client relationships, managing operations, and driving business growth. 

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Client Development 

  • Lead and mentor a team of office staff and field employees, ensuring alignment with company goals and service standards.
  • Build strong relationships with existing clients and actively pursue new business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to manage the workload, sales targets, and scheduling.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, recognition, and retention.
  • Promote Flynn’s culture by modeling core values such as integrity, teamwork, and safety excellence.

Operations & Project Oversight 

  • Review and approve quotes and tenders for roofing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Oversee the preparation of roof reports, including photos and pricing.
  • Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, and overall workflow using Flynn’s custom app.
  • Monitor department financials and budgets, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to manage and update project schedules and oversee safety audits.
  • Make strategic decisions on staffing, equipment, and fleet expansion.

Requirements

  • 5 -7 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, ideally with exposure to service roofing, facility management or building envelope management.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with a strong ability to delegate, plan, and manage teams effectively.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong client and team relationships, with a focus on service excellence and long-term growth.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development and client satisfaction. 
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with hands-on experience using industry specific tools such as Bluebeam and AutoCAD.
