Job Description

Senior Project Manager - Project Delivery

Our Mission

The Senior Project Manager - Project Delivery role centers around driving technical and commercial outcomes in pursuit of facility construction. We oversee the construction of projects, working with utilities who connect our projects to the grid, offtakers who purchase our power, and the lenders who finance them. You own the coordination between these parties, you report to the Director of Project Delivery, and you bring our projects online in fulfillment of our obligations, on schedule and within budget. You carry a portfolio of PV and battery storage projects, usually two or three at a time, from origination to Final Completion.

What We Do

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll work as part of a team of engineers, financial professionals, construction experts, and business managers to plan, design, finance, and construct PV Arrays and Battery Energy Storage Systems. Your mandate is facilitating collaboration across Nofar USA's functions and managing budgets and schedules throughout project development, preconstruction, construction, and commissioning. You drive those outcomes the whole way, and you hand the project over at Final Completion.

You'll be at the center of our business workflows, inside and outside the company. You'll work with business development and finance on asset acquisitions, identifying risks and planning how to turn our growth strategy into reality. You'll lead RFPs to procure construction services and purchase critical equipment, and you'll carry those agreements through negotiation and administration. During EPCA turns, you consolidate comments and edits, lead the calls that close them, keep the exhibits and the exhibits tracker in order, and negotiate the statement of values with the counterparty. You'll manage interconnection agreements with the utility and the ISO, and you'll work with finance so procurement and construction information reaches our lenders in a form they can rely on. You'll be the subject matter expert of our execution process, keeping Nofar USA accountable to our PPA counterparties, lenders, and utilities, and keeping our vendors and construction partners accountable to us.

Your job will evolve with the project lifecycle, but you can generally expect to:

  • Coordinate with EPCs on engineering and construction progress, ensuring that they adhere to the project schedule. Oversee document submittals at key contract milestones. Report progress statistics to senior management during steering committee calls.
  • Manage budgets, review and approve invoices, move critical project transactions, and work with Nofar USA controls so financial reporting is accurate
  • Work with engineering and procurement to confirm critical equipment specifications, so the equipment can deliver the power we sold and is bankable
  • Lead RFPs for construction services and negotiate price and commercial terms
  • Consolidate EPCA comments and exhibits, lead the calls that close the comments, keep the exhibits tracker current, and negotiate the statement of values through to NTP
  • Attend meetings with utility companies and manage utility and ISO interconnection agreements against the construction schedule
  • Work with business development and finance to identify execution risks on acquisitions, and supply the procurement and construction information lenders need
  • Report PPA milestones, track the schedule risk around those dates, and hold vendors and contractors to what they owe us
  • Travel to projects and partners for up to 25% of your time, and work remotely the rest
  • Reconcile the schedule, the cost, and the contract record so that at Final Completion the next team can take the project

Requirements

What We Value

  • People who are driven to succeed, and who can work with minimal oversight
  • Detail-oriented people. The tracker, the milestone report, and the budget are useful only when they are right
  • Opinionated colleagues, willing to say how a project ought to be run
  • People who are passionate about a career bringing power assets online
  • People who are comfortable in a growth organization, where the way we work is still being shaped by the people doing the work

What We Require

  • Remote or Hybrid work, with up to 25% travel
  • A minimum of three years delivering utility-scale solar or battery storage. Five years is preferred
  • Required experience in preconstruction, managing budgets, and managing schedules
  • Preferred experience with PPA milestone management, utility, and ISO interconnection agreements, EPCA negotiation and administration, and working with finance on lender reporting during procurement and construction
  • We look for degrees in mathematics, statistics, engineering, the sciences, finance, and business. But if you believe you can do this job, we encourage you to apply
  • Preference will be given to candidates in Fort Lauderdale, FL
