Power Systems Applications Engineer

Location: Marietta, OH

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to support the design, application, and integration of electrical power distribution solutions for data center environments. This role works with customers, consultants, contractors, sales, and internal engineering teams to develop practical technical solutions and support projects from initial requirements through startup.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate customer requirements into engineered solutions for data center electrical systems.
  • Prepare submittal packages, proposals, technical documentation, drawings, and compliance materials.
  • Coordinate order entry and support projects through production, installation, and field startup.
  • Advise customers and consultants on power distribution and STS applications and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during equipment installation, commissioning, and operation.
  • Provide technical training and presentations to customers, consultants, and channel partners.
  • Support product testing, application notes, and competitive analysis for data center solutions.
  • Gather customer feedback and communicate findings to product development and R&D teams.
  • Travel to customer sites, job sites, and data center facilities approximately 25–35%.
  • Requirements

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of applications, field, and/or design engineering experience involving data center electrical infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • Strong understanding of data center electrical architecture, including UL 891 switchboards, PDUs, STSs, and redundancy strategies such as N+1 and 2N.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.
