Overview

The Payroll Analyst ensures payroll is processed with speed and accuracy to meet SLAs.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as liaison to employees and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies.
  • Audits employee pay records and reconciles totals by department, location, country, etc. Coordinates third party payroll system implementations and upgrades. Interprets pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
  • Verifies compliance with federal and state payroll requirements; stays current with changes in the law.
  • May assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation.
  • Documents payroll processes and procedures; may train payroll department staff.
  • May back up those who perform specialized tasks or activities such as stock option exercises, SEC document filing, or sales commission calculation reviews.
  • Partner with HR & Finance colleagues on reporting and statutory compliance
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in German (spoken and written).

  • Demonstrated ability to apply subject‑matter expertise to resolve a wide range of complex issues using sound judgment and creative problem‑solving.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in German tax law

  • Experience working in cross-functional or international environments
