Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $70,000/year, with higher compensation available based on experience

Position Overview

We are hiring a Manufacturing EHS Specialist to help maintain safe operations in a manufacturing and fabrication setting. This hands-on position works directly with employees and supervisors to identify hazards, improve workplace practices, support safety training, and maintain compliance with safety requirements.

The successful candidate will be regularly present on the production floor and play an active role in building a strong, proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing and fabrication areas for potential safety hazards.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections and safety observations.
  • Work with employees and supervisors to correct unsafe conditions and reinforce safe practices.
  • Document inspection findings and monitor corrective actions through completion.
  • Assist with new-hire safety orientations and onboarding.
  • Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training.
  • Provide practical safety coaching to employees and supervisors.
  • Assist with injury, incident, and near-miss reporting and investigations.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and help establish corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain safety, training, inspection, and compliance records.
  • Assist with regulatory and internal safety documentation.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in safety programs, procedures, and processes.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in safety, EHS, risk management, manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • ASP, CSP, or other professional safety certifications preferred.
